1998 Acura CL check engine light

I was driving my car in 35 mph traffic. I pressed my brake to stop at the light and the car stopped but then lunged forward. When I pressed the accelerator to move the car lunged and then would not move. It sounded the way a car sounds when you try to accelerate in neutral. Then the check engine light came on.

Best you first check the transmission oil, check the level and if it is burnt and smelling bad, you will need to get the scan done as well to check this set fault code, start here.
