I was in a hill, not a major hill but enough that when I took off my parking brake I jerked forward in park and then stepped on brake once I realized I wasn't already. I know I'm dumb and my mind is elsewhere spare me that, but can anybody tell me if I did damage or how much in letting gravity shift the car like that? OCDs a b****

Welcome to 2CarPros.

Honestly, I feel confident you didn't hurt anything. The parking paw in the transmission held it. Most likely, it was a little difficult to remove from park, but you should be just fine.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Take care and Happy 4th!

Joe

Are you sure? I know it's my own mind haunting me and I wish I didn't function this way. But it's going to haunt me for a while. :(
Happy 4th to you too!

Welcome back:

Unless you have noticed something different, I feel very confident that it will be fine. Honestly, all you did was take the pressure off the brakes and applied it to the parking paw in the transmission. That paw is designed to hold the vehicle, so although you should always use a parking brake, allowing the vehicle's weight to go to the parking paw won't hurt anything.

Listen, you drive the vehicle. If anything seems out of the ordinary, let me know and I promise to help. And honestly, I'm the same way with other things, so I totally understand. LOL

Take care of yourself and don't worry. I'm sure it's fine.
