Replace ignition switch, checked fuses will not power up
Everything else works. Use to wiggle key to get fan to work, no more.

Did you replace the tumbler assembly or the actual electrical ignition switch? Are you sure everything is properly adjusted?

I changed the electrical switch not the key tumbler. After many hours of research I fixed it. Relay socket 3,
relay # 18 the X relay
AKA LRR ( Load Reducing Relay)
easy fix thanks for your time.

1998 Jetta tdi. Rear defrost wipers and heat/ac didn't work. That relay in mine is in socket 4. Was all rusted and burnt out. Got water in it some how. I changed the ignition switch before checking the relay. Didn't know about relay until I read your post. Thank you.
