Hi,

This can be caused by several different things. First, is the check engine light staying on when the engine is running? If it is, have the computer scanned to see what trouble codes are stored. Most parts stores will do it free of charge.

Next, when you accelerate, does it feel like the transmission may be slipping? In other words, do the RPMs increase but the vehicle does not accelerate?

One other thought. Are there any strange odors from the exhaust or dark smoke? There could be a partially plugged catalytic converter. Take a look through this link and let me know if anything mirrors what you experience:

Let me know. Also, if the check engine light does stay on while the engine is running, have the computer scanned. It will be very helpful.

Take care,

Joe
