A/C Problems

I need to have my A/C core evaporator replaced.
it will cost about $800.00 because they have to take the dash out. I see some white power on my dash and window sometimes.
I could use this money to pay other bills if I do not get this fixed will it mess up any other part of my car or should I get this done?

The AC system does not have to work for the car to be driven. Besides cooling you in hot weather, the AC system operates in winter when you select "defrost". That is to remove the humidity from the incoming air before it is blown onto the windshield where it would condense and cause fogging. At worst you will have to contend with that fogging, just like we did many years ago when most cars did not have air conditioning.
