It makes a high pitch whistle sound and stops when I turn it off. It also makes this sound when the AC is off but the defrost blower is on.
I recently had to refill the Ac. Changed the filters inside and on the motor.
Now cool air is there blowing, but has this whistle sound.
Thanks for your help.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros. Com.

If you are hearing a whistling sound in the vehicle when the fan is running, chances are either the new cabin air filter was installed incorrectly or the compartment door wasn't properly seated.

Here are the directions specific to your vehicle:

Installation:

Note: The particulate air filter is labeled with an arrow to indicate air flow direction through the filter. Make sure to properly install the particulate air filter. Failure to properly install the filter will result in the need to replace the filter sooner than required by design.
1. Install the particulate air filter (1) into the filter opening in the HVAC housing (2). Insert the particulate air filter directly into the housing with the arrow on the filter pointing to the floor.
2. Position the particulate air filter cover (2) to the HVAC housing (3) and engage the two retaining tabs (1) that secure the cover to the housing. Make sure the retaining tabs are fully engaged.
3. Install the glove box bin See: Glove Compartment > Removal and Replacement > Instrument Panel Glove Box - Installation.

I would suggest removing the glove box again and turning the system on to see if that is where the noise comes from. Make sure the filter was installed facing the correct direction as well as the cover housing retaining tabs are full engaged.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
