I replaced the A/C compressor two months ago only to find out they didn't flush the system. Not to have a cooling issue and to have a different repair shop tell me they should have replaced the whole system. My question is, it there any way of salvaging the compressor by flushing it?

Hi,

The compressor may have internal damage preventing it from building the needed pressure. If it is contaminated, chances are you won't be able to get everything out of it, which will eventually contaminate the rest of the system.

If they are replacing the other components, I would recommend doing the compressor at the same time. There really isn't a way to successfully flush the compressor.

I wish I had better news. I'm just wanting to be honest.

Let me know if you have other questions or if I Can help in any way.

Take care,

Joe

You are very welcome. I don't like giving bad news, but it really should be replaced.

Regardless, please feel free to come back anytime in the future. You are always welcome here. Also, let me know if there is anything I can do to help you with this issue.

Take care,

Joe

Joe, one more question, do I have to replace the evaporator when replacing the compressor or just the condenser and expansion valve along with the compressor and flush out the lines?

Hi,

As long as everything is properly flushed, it should be fine.

If you have a chance, let me know how things turn out for you. I'm interested in knowing.

Take care,

Joe
