Old sensor had to be driven out of hole. New sensor does not easily enter hole. Does the sensor need to be pressed into the hole to function properly?

No, they do not need to be pressed in. They are tight but it sounds like you have corrosion build up in the hole so I would run a wire brush on a drill to clean out the hole and open it up a bit.

You need the sensor to be tight but it should just push in and then be held in place with a bolt.

Here is a video and a guide that will help with this:

Please see the info from the manual that will help with this as well.

Please let us know fi you have other questions. Thanks

Hi,

Chances are there is corrosion where it is placed. It should fit snug, but you should be able to easily install it. The retaining bolt on the steering knuckle holds it in place.

Try this. Take a small piece of sandpaper (something like 320 grit) and wrap it around a pencil or screwdriver. Place it in the opening and gently move it around so that is cleans off any corrosion.

I attached a pic below of the sensor. If there is something different you are working on, let me know. Also, here is a link that shows in general how to replace a wheel speed sensor. You may find it helpful

Let me know if that helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
