Have you checked for codes? Not all faults will set a code, and make sure your scanner is capable of reading the ABS system as a stand alone scan, as a general scan may not pick up ABS faults.

Hi, Thanks for your response. Symptoms†display defective-brake lining wear-engine electronics-anti lock brake sys-acc skid control. Cannot tell if ABS pump is running with engine on. Unplugged abs module 12 pin plug checked plug, no power at any point. Do not know which pin to use to put outside power to check motor. This car has four fuse panels but none of them show a fuse or relay for ABS system.

Thanks again for your response. However, I could not read it clearly, even when I expand it it is fuzzy. Could you send me a larger diagram. Other symptoms-speedometer does not work, transmission will not shift out of limp mode. I have ohmed all wheel sensors and they were all in 1600 range. Also removed and tested brake light switch. Thanks again for any help. Jim

When I open the image it is full page. Did you just click on the image? Anyway it is the ETS/ASR relay by the looks of things it is in the right front foot well. I cannot get a larger image sorry.

Hi, Thanks, I got a better view of diagram. This car has four fuse panels, two under hood one on each of engine, one on left side of dash just inside of driver door and one under rear seat passenger side. Do not see anything on right floor panel-still looking. Thanks, Jim

That is what I found in a manual, but if you can supply the VIN number I can do a search on auto data or pro demand for a better chance of getting more information.

Red yellow from control module is power power to relay switch side, pink/red wire from terminal block left hand kick panel is relay constant power. Did you find the relay and control module? Sorry for the delay, we have had some serious bush fires around here over night and the weather has been such that fire duties come first just now, but things are settling down. I am in Australia so time difference comes into play as well.

Hi, yes I found the ABS module and with the twelve wire plug unplugged none of the sockets has power coming to ABS module. None of the four fuse panels show a fuse or relay for the ABS system. I do not know if the ABS module or pump motor is bad for until I get power to it. Thanks, Jim

Do you have power at the 15 amp fuse at the relay module? I am beginning to wonder if the module it self is faulty, did you find the ETS/ASR relay?

Hi, It is hard to say the ABS module is bad if there is no power getting to it. I do not find a fuse panel. You mentioned on the right front floor panel. I have pulled every fuse I can find on this car and all are good. That is where I need help, finding out where the ABS module gets its power. It would help if I could get a diagram of the 12 pin module plug to see what each one does for the system. So no I still not found a fuse or relay for the ABS system. Thanks, Jim

Do You know where to getba good repair manual for this car. AutoZone carries a Haynes manual that I have used in the past, which were fairly good, however they say it is not available for Mercedes- don’t know if it is a copyright problem. Thanks Jim
