I am going to replace my ABS module that was diagnosed by my local Ford dealer as bad and it quit communicating. I’m going to replace it with a used ABS module from a vehicle same year same model Mustang as mine. The question is, do I have to reprogram anything after used module is installed?

Good morning,

Yes, it must be programmed to your VIN before it will function.

Do I have to take it to the Ford dealer for a re-program or can your basic auto repair shop do that? Thanks, Randy

Any shop can do this provided they have the correct scan tool for programming. I would call around to be sure the shop can do it prior to taking to them.

You are welcome.

Always glad to help.
