When ever my ABS light displays on the dashboard my brake functions effectively, but if the light goes off my brake becomes stiff and ineffective. Kindly assist my with a solution.

When the brake peddle becomes stiff is it only when you first get in the vehicle and try to drive off or is it all the time that the brake peddle is stiff? Also, have you had someone scan the ABS module for codes to see what is going on? If you have the codes please post them on here to look a little further into the ABS light issue.

We will need you to get a scan done on the ABS system, we need to know if any fault codes are set at this time.

Also, check your vacuum pump. That supplies vacuum to the booster. With key on pump the brake pedal. Motor should come on. If it does not check fuses. If fuse is blown that will trigger the check engine light on for all oxygen sensors.

If fuse is good replace the motor. Very common for that part to fail. Let us know what you find and let us know about the codes.

Forgot to add, if fuse is blown replace the vacuum pump motor. They seize up and cause the duse to blow also.
