My mechanic replaced my battery on my car listed above Stingray Convertible and now the ABS and traction control lights are on, and he cannot figure out why or how to turn them off.

Hi,

I'm not sure what replacing the battery would have done to have caused this. However, here is what I suggest.

We need to scan the can-bus to see if there are codes stored in the ABS module related to the light being on. CAN stands for controller area network.

Basically, the different modules are tied together via a few wires and communicate with each other. This type of scan will retrieve codes regardless of the module storing them.

Here is a link that shows how it is done:

Let me know if that is something you can do or have the shop do for you.

Take care,

Joe

Hi, the car is at my mechanic, they are the ones who caused this, I gave them the instructions. They just advised me it's not the ABS light, after they changed the battery the Service rear axle and traction control lights are on.

Hi,

Thanks for the update. The traction control could be directly related to the ABS, but it doesn't sound that way in this case.

If you can, let me know what the actual code is they got that is related to the problem. I can do a little research for you and see what could have happened.

Take care,

Joe
