The ABS and brake warning lights come on at random. They can be several days apart or several times a day. The brakes work fine, none of the issues other vehicles listed on your web site. With the warning lights on I can shut off the truck and restart the warning lights to go away but may appear again several miles down the road or not for a day or two. All very random. The local repair shop checked the code and said it was the EBCM. Is this an accurate diagnosis?

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

They could be correct, but there are other things that can cause this to happen. Even something as simple as low brake fluid can set these lights to turn on. However, in most cases, it is a wheel speed sensor.

By chance, what code did they find? Has anyone checked wheel speed sensors for damage, wiring issues, and so on? If not, here is a link that explains how to test a wheel speed sensor. All you will need is a voltmeter or a multimeter.

Let me know.

Take care,
