After replacing the ABS module, the brake pedal goes all the way down with no brake

The truck won't advance. When you step on the brake, it takes a while for the truck to advance again. You hear a noise, and the pedal feels like it vibrates. There's a noise after the noise you're able to advance again and step on the gas freely. My husband changed the ABS module. Now the brake pedal goes all the way down with no brake. Is there something he is supposed to do? Or shall we replace the wheel speed sensor?

Hi,

Since the module was replaced, the system needs what is called an automated bleed procedure done.

First, the brake system is bled using a traditional bleed procedure. Once that is completed, a scan tool that can communicate with the brake module needs to be used. If this isn't done, what you are experiencing won't change.

I attached the directions below for the procedure. However, if you don't have the scanner that can perform this, you will need to get one or have it done.

Let me know if this helps or if you have questions

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

A scan tool is used to communicate with the different computers/modules on the vehicle. In this case, you need one that can communicate with the ABS module and run the automated bleed procedure.

Let me know if that helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
