Car listed above has a 2.0 tfsiI. I tuned my car 6 months ago. Also had to change intercooler due to a run in with a badger on the highway. Now suddenly my turbo is making blow off noise and it is quite smokey from my exhaust. The car has always been a bit more on the smokey side but not like this. I have a video from inside and outside the engine bay so you understand what type of noise i'm talking about.

There is currently no smoke emitting from exhaust. Only small fumes but these are normal and have always been there, I suspect water in the exhaust from when the big fumes came. I have let the car been sitting for 4 days now so. But the noise is still worrying me.

Just to be sure we are talking about the same noise, you are saying the noise when you let off the accelerator quickly?

So you are raising the RPM and then quickly letting off the accelerator and the noise of the pop off valve?

That is a little loud but that is normal for it to make that noise when you wind it up and let it off. Basically you are building pressure in the intake and if they don't vent that when the throttle is closed quickly then the intake seals will be blown out.

If there are no performance issues and no codes then I would just keep an eye on it and if it gets worse then the valve may be leaking. However, you would most likely notice a lower boost pressure or the engine is down on power as the valve starts to hang open and you can't build boost.

Yeah, the noise only comes when I quickly drop off the accelerator. The sound only comes when I hear the turbo working. If I drive normally the sound does not come. Appreciate the answer! I found it weird as well since there are no performance issues.

Okay. That is one question that I did not ask that you did answer. The fact that you don't hear it except when doing this. That just confirms even more that this is normal and it is the blow off/pop off valve. Thanks for that info and using 2CarPros. Also, thanks for the video. That made this much easier. Good job.
