My A/C is not working. It blows air through the vents but not cold. The compressor is spinning properly but when I turn on the ac its not engaging. I dont know where to check for this type of problem. When I turn on the ac, the ac light does not turn on. What should I do? I want to work on my car first hand so I can familiarize myself to my car and also, im low on cash thats why im doing this on my own. Cheers and thanks

To see if it has a proper amount of Freon in it which if no gauges you can't but see if large pipe coming from dash is cold. If it is then pull the fuse for hvac inside car it may reset actuator for blend if not blend actuator is bad or not getting power. Leave fuse out for 60 seconds prior to reinstalling.

Thanks. Checked early this morning. Still no cold air. I rechecked the compressor, the clutch is not engaging now. I borrowed a gauge from a neighbor to check on the amount freon in it and its good, not over or under charged. What should I do next? Thanks in advance

If the compressor isn't working then installing a gauge saying it's good is like saying there is water in the desert. If the compressor doesn't work then it's either low on Freon, a fuse blown, a relay or some other type of problem in the controls I suggest you have someone look at it professionally
