How do you test the coolant temperature sensor?

Hi,

Here is some information about this and a video that shows how to test one using hot water. Basically, this is a negative thermal coefficient sensor. Meaning as temp of the coolant goes up, the resistance in the sensor decreases so if you are monitoring the voltage of the sensor as shown in the video it will decrease. As temperature goes down of the coolant the voltage will go up.
