I have a 2002 ford mustang 3.8. Recently I filled the a/c system because it was giving me the signs of being low the clutch would engage and disengage. After it was filled it worked great for about 3 days then it completely stopped working. I believe I have checked all the fuses and none are bad. I took it to have the pressure checked and the mechanic said that the problem must be electrical because it was holding pressure and had adequate pressure to engage the compressor. I took it to a friend and he looked with a electric test light and it seems the low pressure switch is getting no power the high pressure is getting power. To be sure the one not getting power is the switch on the top of the accumulator but the firewall. So my question is what would cause no power to the low pressure switch?

I KNOW LITTLE ABOUT YOUR RIG

JUST TO AID YOU IN SOME WAY.I FOUND THE WIRING DIAGRAM FOR THE "MANUAL A/C" SYSTEM (IT WAS THE ONLY ONE I COULD FIND IN "MITCHELL I"

SO, I'M ASSUMING WHATEVER IS DEPRIVING YOU OF JUICE, MUST BE IN THIS DIAGRAM

OTHERS MAY JUMP IN AND ASSIST, (SOMETIMES WE GET REALLY BUSY, SOME PEOPLE DON'T GET AN ANSWER)

I'M MORE IN TUNE WITH JEEP CJs AND OTHER CARBURETED RIGS

LET US KNOW HOW IT'S GOING, THE MORE INFO YOU KEEP POSTING, THE BETTER CHANCE SOMEONE MIGHT RECOGNIZE YOUR DILEMMA AND MAYBE JUMP IN!

YOUR DIAGRAM IS BELOW

I HOPE THE DIAGRAM HELPED

I HATE THE COLD.I WENT THRU RANGER SCHOOL DURING THE WINTER OF '84. JUNGLE FATIGUES. NO COAT. JUST A "RANGER BUDDY" TO KEEP ME WARM!

I HAVE NO A/C IN EITHER JEEP, YOU CAN COUNT ON SUPER HEAT (I EVEN ADDED A BACKUP UNIT!) AND AT MINIMUM, 2 COATS IN EACH ONE

GLAD YOU ARE HAPPY. THAT MAKES US HAPPY!

THE MEDIC

1) "WILLY" IN THE WINTERISED MODE

2) AND 3) MY MAN-CAVE

4) "WILLY" A/C ON LOW

5) "WILLY" A/C ON HIGH
