A/C compressor installation issue

My compressor was making a lot of loud noise so I bought another on from a junk yard. They said it would fit but it has a bracket with it and the one I took off does not. Anyways I cannot seem to get it to match up. Is it the wrong one or am I just not putting enough into it? Thanks in advance.

Can you post a picture of the old and the replacement? If I see it, I can help you with this issue.
