My A/c works great at idle or city driving. When I am at highway speeds it turns to an ambient temp. When I slow down and the RPM go down the cooling kicks in and is fine. Or if I put it into neutral at higher speeds to the the RPM go down (below 2500) it cools right down?

Follow the directions on pic to see if there are any codes. It also may be the clutch on compressor is going bad or needs to be shimmed so have a pro check that.

Did run the test. No code. Ran thru the cycle fine.

It is a new compressor. I will talk to the shop that put it in. Tell how the
"needs to be shimmed " affect the compressor. Just to educate me a little.

Thanks Bill

The clutch has to be set at a certain distance to activate. The outer plate is what I'm talking about. If to far away it can do what problem you are having or it could be something else totally. If the system was just worked on recently then they should warranty it
