A/C and temperature gauge stop working after the engine warms up

Every morning about three miles of driving the temperature gauge stops working, at the same time my AC stops working. I can pull over and pull my negative battery cable off and it resets something and AC and temperature gauge works again until engine cools totally down.

Good morning.

When the AC stops working, is it just the compressor or all the controls that stop working?

Do all the other functions on the dash work besides the temperature gauge?

Did the check engine light come on during this event?

Can you check for power to the compressor when this happens?

I attached a wire diagram for the AC system for you to view. The PCM is what the two functions have in common but want to get as much information as possible before making any suggestions.

No, everything keeps working, it is only the AC compressor and the temperature gauge. There is no power to the AC compressor or temperature gauge when this happens, I spoke to ASE Certified mechanic, and he says the Colorado's were notorious for this issue. He says is the temperature sensor being faulty I am having it replaced, I will let y'all know the outcome. Thank you very much.
