For starters the fan blows air when it wants to. When it does blow air, only the passenger side blows out cold. The driver side blows depending on the climate outside. But the fan seems to only work when it’s cool outside, not in hot weather. I am talking about the blower fan for the air conditioning not the radiator fan. I can hear the refrigerant moving through the lines. There is no Volvo dealership in my city in Texas unfortunately. Any tips where I can start fixing this problem?

For starters the blower motor transistor would need to be replaced to address the fan coming on when it feels like. Will post instructions and images below. As for one side cold and one side warm, you would need an advance scan tool to communicate with the climate control module and do a simple calibration of the damper motors to start with. Here are the instructions for the transistor.

Wish I had a way to calibrate the damper motors without the scan tool. A good I dependent shop should have the equipment t for that. By doing the calibration you will know if that was the issue or something else like a bad damper motor or climate box. I do not suspect low refrigerant since if it was low it would be warm on passenger side and cold on drivers side.

Hope the information is helpful and keep us updated as well please.
