Drove this car one hundred miles home when purchased. It would stall at idle hard to start. So I replaced plugs, wires, rotor and cap. Noticed that oil leaked at distributor base. So, I pulled the distributor to put a new gasket. Forgot to line everything up first. Would not start, just turn over and over. So I aligned the distributor with top-dead-center on number one cylinder checked firing order etc. Finally got it to start, idle at 1000 rpm's. Car warmed up okay, but when I stepped on the gas it stalls every time. Checked fuel pressure it was good. Solid mark on timing light so timing chain must be okay. Discovered there are three clear timing marks on the harmonic balancer. Tried to set it up another six times. Still only high idles then stalls when I try the accelerator. Still has to turn over about twenty four times before it will start. Oh, changed mad sensor checked vacuum lines. Help!

Fuel pressure should be 41-47 psi 41 minimum with key on only and should not drop more than 5 psi within five minutes. See picture for how to time engine as a wire needs to be disconnected in order to do it. Also refer to under-hood decal for correct timing.
