I have the truck listed above with 350 engine and an automatic 4160E transmission and the transfer case is shifted using floor shift. I had to have the engine rebuilt as well as transmission. After I had all that done 4x4 didn't work. It wont go into 4hi or 4lo. Anytime I try switching into 4hi or 4lo it puts the transfer case in neutral and I am lost beyond belief. I don't know if the shift linkage is messed up or what? Needing help ASAP.

Welcome to 2CarPros!

It definitely sounds like there is an adjustment issue with the transfer case shift linkage. I would start by following the procedure below to ensure the linkage is adjusted properly.

1. Place shift lever in the 4 HI position.
2. Raise and support vehicle, then disconnect linkage rod from console shift lever. 3. Shift transfer case into 4 HI position. Lever should be in full forward detent, Fig. 1.
4. Adjust swivel to align with hole in console shift lever.
5. Install linkage rod into shift lever.

See the attached picture for shift linkage position reference.
