2017 Dodge Durango vehicle wont go to park or shift?

Durango check engine light came on, wouldnt recognize vehicle park, engine would shut off, but car remained in ACC and wouldnt switch to OFF. Couldnt shift to drive or reverse. Had to disconnect battery to just turn vehicle off.

This car uses a rotary dial shifter, and Chrysler had tons of issues with. When this part goes out the BCM cant figure out what to do. Also, you need to make sure the battery is in good shape, if the battery is more then 4 years old I would remove it and have it tested at the auto parts store. If the battery is good I would do a CAN scan to see what codes are in the system, this video will help.

Chances are it is the rotary shifter dial, does it feel normal or loose when you move it? It will help to have the codes to we can pin point the problem without guessing.
