What are these two connections (two more in back) circled in this picture? They all of a sudden have started leaking (a lot) on my car.

Nice picture.

Those are cam actuators. the seals around them are leaking. the valve cover gasket needs to be replaced to stop the leak. those seals are part of the valve cover gasket.
