I need to remove the valve cover to remove/replace VVT solenoids?

The vehicle listed above has a turbo and I am trying to remove the valve cover to remove/replace VVT solenoids. I am having trouble getting the valve cover off, all bolts are loose, and I've tried very gently prying on it, enough to break the seal but not enough to break the cover or gouge anything. I've seen videos that talk about removing a bracket on the back driver side of the valve pan (which is a real pain) and also videos talking about removing the throttle body. Not sure which would be the most efficient way to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

There is a bracket on the rear that holds the wiring. It needs to be removed. Also, be careful when removing this to avoid damage to the metal.

If you look below, I attached the directions for removing and replacing the valve cover. It is extensive, but I believe you already have a lot done.

Additionally, I highlighted and circled the pic that I believe is what you are looking for. It is the last pic listed. Also, the directions include torque spec and sequence for tightening things.

I appreciate the help, Joe! I was actually able to get the valve cover off. Unfortunately, at the cost of destroying the seals around the VVT (VCT) solenoids. You wouldn't happen to have a part number to replace those would you? I can't seem to find the right ones.

I don't believe there will be an individual number for that. It normally comes with the new part. However, take a look at what I found below. Mahle is a company that makes gaskets, and this appears to be what you are looking for. It provides all the specs as well.
