Hi! I have recently bought a 2012 Tiguan S that does not have a Auto feature on the headlight switch. I have to turn off the lights by hand every time I leave the car. The bad thing about is most of the time I forget to turn it off, so I decided to buy a original VW switch with the auto feature, no fogs just the three options the auto is the middle option. It fitted perfectly but the auto feature doesn't work. My question is do I have to or can I take my car to my local VW so they can activate it or is it something I can do myself? Does it need to use the VCDS system to get it to work, or is it not possible to do it at all?

Thank you!

I have not done so, but yes, I think VCDS woul be needed to activate the feature / coding of the control module.

Post the same question in the VAG-COM yahoo groups forum. You will get an answer from VCDS developers.
