I Have a Mazda 6 year 2010 come with semi-auto CVT transmission ( those with paddle shift and +/- gear shift). My way of driving is Auto 20% Manual 80% which I like to play with the maunal shift most of time (Not for hardcore racing but just for fun and control during daily use) My question is how durable is the CVT gearbox if manual shift been used most of the time? As my understanding CVT gearbox is quite sensitive and cost you a fortune to repair. FYI, in my country there is no manual available. All dealers are selling auto or semi-auto car.

Did you buy it knowing it was "sensitive"? I wouldn't think it matters how you shift it unless you hotrod it? Did you buy it new? What is warranty on trans? You can buy aftermarket insurance to cover such expensive repairs.
