Heater blower making a funny noise

Car heater blower? Making a funny noise like it is revved up. Car smells hot outside, not inside the car. 2010 Mazda 3 w/ 48,000 miles automatic transmission. When I turn off the car, the motor revs down, like a slow motion sound. Noises are sporadic but loud enough to hear over the radio.

The blower fan could be rubbing against the housing due to alignment/loose -inspect
