In the direct sunlight I can see what look like spider web shaped scratches on my car. I see them the most on the hood and the trunk top but they are all over. I have been told by the maker of the car that this is normal (Something about the clear coat.) Is this true? If it is, is there any way to get these scratches out? It also shows up when the sunlight shins in the garage window on my car.

they are not normal by any means. you have a warranty on the car and you need to have it checked by a body shop to confirm. see what they say and then go back to the dealer. if you dont get satisfaction, ask for the regional rep to discuss it further.

Would it be hard to get the body shop to do anything about it since I bought the car in Oct of 2010? It has always been this way but I can't prove it. What do you think caused it?

who knows the cause. a body will fixit for a price but you want the manufacturer to pay and they should. be persistent about it till you get someone in authority to make a final decision.
