Elantra jerking when stopped

When I first start 2010 hyundai elantra is jerks and shakes when in park and reverse and the rpm needle moves when its jerking. As soon as I press the gas it stops. Also the check engine light rencently came on. Is my car okay to drive for a while before getting it fixed? And what might be wrong?

When CEL indicates, an error has been detected by the engine computer and you need a scan to find out what is causing the peroblem.

Your vehicle should be under warranty, let the dealer worry about the problem.
