I have an AC problem. About 30 minutes into a trip the AC stops blowing cool air.

It sounds like the evaporator core is freezing up dues to s low charge in the system here is a video to help you recharge the system

2010 pilot air conditioning problems, noise under hood, white steam released under hood, ac lost drivers' side then passengers' side then rear out

When you noticed the white steam/smoke did you hear a loud pop just before? If so then the system has blockage or was overcharged or the coolant fan stopped working. To confirm the problem lets see if there is any pressure in the system this video will show you how.
