Whats wrong with my AC?

When i have my AC on in my 2010 Chevy Impala, there's a thumping noise. Its not a clicking noise. This noise only occurs when the AC is on. There's no noise at all when the AC is in the off position, or the fans/heat is running. The noise is also only heard at low speeds or at idle. What could the cause of this be?

You will have to track the noise down to where its coming from.You can use a long screw driver i would by check the ac compressor.

the noise sounds like its coming from the right side of the cars engine, however when the hoods up and occurring inside the car its hard to find inside the vehicle.

i meant from the outside of the vehicle.

Unfornately i can only guide you on finding the noise i cant hear the or track it down.Hears another thought on the noise though how about a weak belt tenisor?When the ac is on see if the belt tensior looks like its bouncing around too much.
