I am having a plan to build a car with rear wheel drive and I have selected a engine from Chevrolet cruze. It is a front wheel drive engine.
My question is can a rear wheel drive car can be made by using the front wheel drive engine from cruze engine? If it is possible, I request you to please let me know the requirements to do so.

The engine has no idea what it is connected to. It's the transmission you're going to have trouble finding that has to be for a rear-wheel application. Chrysler had their really tough and reliable 2.5L four cylinder in the Shadow / Sundance and Spirit / Acclaim and some minivans, all front-wheel-drive. They turned it 90 degrees and used it in the Dakota rear-wheel-drive trucks with a normal rear-wheel-drive transmission. Your problem will be figuring out the transmission housing bolt pattern and flex plate combination that will match up to the engine. Keep in mind too that the Cobalt uses transmission electronics that ties in with the engine electronics, so unless the drive train you need was designed and used by GM in something else, there might not be anything that is going to work.
