Any ideas why the odomoter will not turn off

I have a 2009 Kia Sportage. For some reason the odometer will not turn off when the car is off. I have to remove the fuse from the driver's side panel for the odometer to turn off. Any ideas what may be the cause? I appreciate it!

Most likely a fault with the meter control unit.
