I'eve recently experienced a tapping sound coming from my dash area, when I turned on my heater in my cab. It has never made this sound, from 1 day to the next, Now the noise sounds like a clicking, I now have no heat blowing out at all (FYI) it has been extremely cool in my area Ca./Palm Springs, Ca.
What is the problem. Note: blower works fine
Pls help me w/this issue.

Your problem is one of these two issue, the first and MOST common issue is the blend door actuator, it is a small electric motor in a plastic housing with a plastic gear which opens and closes the blend ( hot/cold) door inside of the heater box under the dash, this is found below and to the left of the radio, just follow the clicking noise, it is a square white little plastic box about 2 inches by 2 inches. The next possible issue would be a broken blend door, which is what the actuator attaches to. The actuator is not to bad to change and can be done from the drivers side floor, leave the key on and follow the noise. The door though is more complicated and requires some dash dis-assembly. Although both issue are common on ford trucks, the actuator is by far the most common. It has three or four Phillips screws that hold it in place.
