Check engine light on 09 Impala

I have an 09 chevy impala with a check engine light on and a symbol that reads reduced engine power. Put it on a reader and no codes were found. Tightened gas cap, same results after about a day or two. Car has about 40,000 miles oil changes on time. What can cause this problem?

Will your code reader show all codes? I saw a service bulletin for P2138, has to do with water leak under the dash getting into wiring harness. If that code is applicable, fix the water leak. An example, maybe the seal around windshield has a leak.

There may be other possible reasons for reduced power. Without something to point us in the right direction, I don't know?
