Hello, I have a 2008 4dr VW JETTA WOLFSBURG EDITION with a 2.5L engine. The car has 128,000 miles. I have a problem with the truck. Every time I start the car the trunk pops open so I have to get out the car and close it. Since the key and the remote are together

Do you have the remote trunk opener embedded in the key?
If yes, you need to check if the button is too sensitive and while cranking engine, pressure on the key fob would trigger the trunk opener.

Yes the trunk opener is embedded in the key, well I tried it with both set of keys and it would do the same thing with both sets of keys. Also what I did was when I starte the car I would grab the keys by its side so as to not touch any of the buttons on the key but the trunk would still open. And how would I be able to check if the button is too sensitive?

Try holding the key with one of your hand and use the other to twist or turn as if you are cranking the engine and test if it affects the boot.
