Ticking noise from wheel

I'm getting a constant ticking noise coming from the front driver side wheel, the sound speeds up when I go faster, slows down when I go slower, and is at it's worst when I turn the wheel, is this a CV Joint?

Yes, it sounds like a failed outer cv joint. The boot is most likely ripped open and the grease is gone. It is a noise that requires immediate attention before the axle breaks and leaves you stranded.

I had a look at the boots, and they don't appear to be damaged. I took some pictures, as my knowledge is limited to what I can find on the net. I'm hoping your trained eye might be able to spot something. Below is the link to the photo's I took (only of the driver side)

The boot looks good. It still could be the outer joint being bad. The grease could have solidified and caused the failure.
