2008 Kia Spectra HELPP

While I was driving today, my steering wheel locked up, all my lights suddenly flashed on (check engine, seatbelt, oil, etc) and car slowed to a stop. Had to tun car off and turn back on and car began to work fine. This happened to me twice today. I just got a new battery about 6 months ago so I know that is not the issue. What could the problem be and how expensive could it be to fix?

Well there is no power. Like my radio is still goin and lights are on bt the car stops like there is no power

I need to know if the engine stalls when this happens or if it returns to an idle.

I'm sorry it is idle. The engine will rev up when I gas it but won't go anywhere

If the engine revs up, it sounds like a transmission issue. Have you checked trans fluid? Is it clean and full?

I have recently had oil changed bt haven't had transmission fluids specifically checked

Allow the engine to warm up and check it in park. Let me know if it is a pinkish color, full.

Dk if this has anything to do with it bt at stop lights or if in driveway while my foot is on the break my engine will rev up on its on at times.

The dip stick should say transmission on it. When you are stopped and the engine revs, does the car try to move?
