That is likely a bad brake light switch but make sure it hasn't lost the rubber bumper it strikes against. Here is the location so you can replace the switch or check the adjustment. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

It will be under the dash on the drivers side where it interacts with the brake pedal. Here is a picture that shows the wiring connector.

2003 Kia Sedona Two Wheel Drive Automatic 55000 miles

My husband used my Sedona to charge his car - which had a marine batery- and ever since then the battery and break lights stay on when I start the car. The Sedona the second day after he charged his car just died so we replaced the battery but the lights are still on. If I turn the car off and then turn it back on the lights go off but if I wait say like 5 minutes the lights will come back on when the car is started again.

Do I really need to take it in to Kia and pay all that money?

Help!

Hi:
A dealer? Lets try some free things first. I want you to take the car to a nationally recognized parts store and have the alt tested. Most places will do it for free. Something tells me something may have happend to the voltage regulator.

Let me know what you find.

Joe

Brakes problem
2002 Kia Sedona 6 cyl Automatic 125000 miles

I have a 2002 Kia Sedona and my brake light keeps coming on every time I make a right handed turn. It won't shut off until I turn the wheel to the left. What could be causing this?

Check the brake light switch under the dash at the top of the brake pedal. Make sure it is properly adjusted and not so loose that it may allow the light to come on when turning.

Let me know what you find.
