On start up no matter temp there's quite a bit of clatter or knock then quotes down to a slight tap at idle if I put it in drive it stops unless I Rev up the engine same in park just worse when driving it only makes noise under 1200 rpm and when it shifts gears recently got low on oil and it was old oil also it throws codes p0014 p0017 for exhaust crank shaft pos and camshaft control module or some kind of solinoid just changed the cam pos sensor with no effect

Hi, is it possible to fix this issue without having to replace the engine? If so, what are the approx labor hours?

This is what's going on. I'm a single mom of 2 younger boys, & when I left my ex, he had someone stab my oil filter twice with a screwdriver! One night on my way home from work (15min away) I started spewing oil. It took me about 3hrs & $40 in oil to get home. My cousin & I changed the filter ourselves. A few weeks later, I let one of my coworkers borrow the truck (he's lent me his before) & I ended up getting it back knocking! Ya, I know right! He still plays dumb about what happened when it started knocking.
Some people told me it could've been the timing slapping around in there. Others said bearing or knock. Just to give you a better idea of the sound it was making. Eventually, it just seized. Any advice you can offer is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

No, that motor is complete toast now. The crankshaft is ruined and probably numerous other things from running without sufficient oil. Your best bet now would be to just find a good used engine or a different car.
