Chevy Impala 2008 - "reduced power" light goes on randomly. Tire pressure light goes on when tire pressure is good. Motor stopped dead while operating on freeway. Battery was dead with no "low battery" warning message. Battery replaced, but "reduced power" and "tire pressure" warning lights keep coming on.

Have you had the computer scanned to identify trouble codes?

Yes, the dealership repair shop looked over the computer and said they could see no related problems. Their diagnosis was the battery was dead, so they replaced it. They could not identify any other problems. One week later, I am getting the same warnings as the day before it died on the freeway: "low tire pressure" and "reduced power" signal. We've looked through the manual and done the "drive in small circles" to reset, but the warnings continue. Can a battery just go dead when the motor is engaged? They checked the alternator and said it was fine also.

The reduced power is a fault with the fly by wire system either the throttle body or the pedal sensor is failing.

Go to another shop familiar with this issue and have them check it for you.

Hey Roy fromASEMaster6371. You were spot on. We were going to the Chevy dealership with a large repair department. But, they said they couldn't diagnose it until we came in with the warnings/engine messages displaying. We did, and they hooked up the diagnostic tool and told us that it was a malfunction in the pedal sensor. Where were you when we spent the first $250? Now, another $250 later, it is supposed to be fixed. Let's hope so. Thanks for your knowledgable answer.
