I have a 2008 Cad. SRX. I park on a hill, and sometimes in the mornings the car will not go up the hill very fast. The engine revs up but the car goes up the hill very slow. The rpms go very high with no power to move the car.

That is a transmission issue (slipping). Have you checked to see if the trans fluid is clean and full? Does the problem go away when it warms up?

The problem does clear up when it warms up. The only way to check the fluid is from underneath. My only option is to take it to a dealer.

You should be able to get the trans fluid checked at any shop. It's just a matter of starting the engine and putting the car in the air to remove an inspection plug. I have to be honest, that is where I would start. Trans fluid expands when it gets hot, so there is a chance it is just low. However, it could be other issues as well. Has the check engine light come on?

I hope that's all it is. Based on the description, it's slipping when cold which could be several things. Let me know what you find.
