Transmission has a very loud metallic clanking

My transmission has a very loud metallic clanking and yesterday it got too sever for me to drive and it got stuck in second gear after parking what would cause this issue and how do I fix it I put a new clutch pack in it 2 months ago and my first initial thought is that it was the throw out bearing but I know that wouldnt cause it to get stuck in gear after parking its not stuck any more but the noises and vibrations persist. Oh and yesterday after the problem got worse I could smell a bad oder after slowing down

THIS REALLY SOUNDS LIKE YOU NEED TO DO SOME EXPLORATORY SURGERY!

GUESSING MAY ONLY GET YOUR HOPES UP. UNTIL YOU GET IN, YOU WILL NOT KNOW FOR SURE

I HAVE NO CLUE FROM YOUR QUESTION "WHO" DID YOUR WORK AND THEIR QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE

IF PROPER PROPER PROCEDURES WERE NOT FOLLOWED (SUCH AS TORQUING BOLTS TO SPECS) SOMETHING MAY HAVE BACKED OUT, AND SOMETHING IS FRAILING AROUND LOOSE.

ANOTHER POSSIBILITY IS YOU HAD A DEFECTIVE PART INSTALLED---MAYBE IT'S UNDER WARRANTY FROM THE MANUFACTURER OR BY THE SHOP WHO INSTALLED IT

I KNOW THAT "KNOT IN THE STOMACH" FEELING WHEN SOMETHING MAJOR IS AILING YOUR BABY, ALL TOO WELL!

AFTER REBUILDING MY TRANNY 100% NEW INNARDS, ALL THAT WAS OLD WAS THE CASE, I HAD A PROBLEM SHIFTING UP OR DOWN INTO 2ND (IT WOULD GO, BUT WAS SLOW AND NOISY GOING IN).

I PULLED IT OUT 6 TIMES DISASSEMBLED IT 4 OF THOSE TIMES AND I HAD A TRANNY GUY LOOK IT OVER 4 OF THOSE TIMES. IT WOUND UP BEING THE BRAND NEW 2ND-3RD SYCRONIZER WAS MACHINED WRONG.

AFTER I MADE ABSOLUTELY SURE "IT WASN'T ME", ON THE 3RD PULL, I NOTIFIED THE COMPANY I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS (JUST TO GET IT NOTED).

I SPENT SEVERAL MONTHS PLAYING WITH IT BEFORE I REQUESTED THE SYNCRONIZER (WHICH TO THE NAKED EYE LOOKED FINE) THE COMPANY MADE NO QUALMS ABOUT SENDING ME THE PART AFTER SO LONG. I JUST WISH I COULDA GOT SOME LABOR REIMBURSED TO ME!

I'M A DIYer, MYSELF, I DO KNOW A LOT MORE ABOUT MY TRANNY, I CAN PULL, TEAR DOWN, REBUILD, AND RE-INSTALL THE TRANNY AND TRANSFER CASE IN RECORD TIME NOW. IT RUNS SLICKER THAN SNOT NOW!

I went to pull the drive line and come to find out the yolk is froze up on the tranny it's all tore up now so I'm aost positive now that it's the output shaft in the cone wich has a crack running down the side of it I need to look for a replacement ASAP I plan to further investigate anyways to see what All damage has been done
