Starting to not wanna shift into 5th gear automatically or manually I'm sure it's ready for service I've just never done one of these before. I know it's a sealed trans axle so no dip stick that's about it

Sounds to me as if there could be distinction brought to your story.
Is fifth gear not engaging? Perhaps the transmission is not going into converter clutch lockup?
If so, it could indicate the need to further diagnose the issue, it might be a wiring issue or a solenoid could be faulty or maybe the torque converter lockup clutch is slipping.
A check of the condition and aroma of the transmission fluid is in order, if it is black and smells burnt, proceed with caution mate.
