Yesterday my car started fine in the morning. In the afternoon after sitting for 8 hours it wouldn't start. It would turn over for a few seconds and then shut off. There was a hose that was disconnected and thought maybe that was the problem. I took it to the shop and they couldn't find anything wrong. The hose wasn't the problem. Any suggestions?

So when you took it to the shop was it not starting and they couldn't find the issue?

If not here is a guide that is going to get us started:

Once we start checking these things we need to start with the fuel. Here is a guide on how to check the fuel pressure:

If the fuel pressure is ok we need to check for spark by pulling a plug and hold it against the block and crank the engine.

If you have no spark the most likely cause is the crank sensor.

Here is a guide that talks about this:

Lastly I have attached below the process on how to replace the crank sensor if that proves out to be the issue.

Take a look at this material and let us know what questions you have.

Thanks
