First, both are good vehicles. However, to compare part prices is difficult. The labor rates in your area should be about the same between a Chevrolet dealer and a Mitsubishi dealer, but in general, import parts are more expensive.

I hope that helps. What you could do is go online to a parts store and compare prices between the two vehicles. For example, how much does a brake caliper for a Mit cost and then look up the cost for a Cobalt. That may give you a better insight.
