I took my car & got the oil changed yesterday when I left it ran fine. Today when I got off from work I noticed slight vibration so when I got home I looked in the engine I noticed 1 fan was spinning then it would stop and start back but the other one wasn't spinning at all. Is that normal

Im buying the car from a buy here pay here and started the contract 6 months ago

Do both fans work when the AC is on? And yes, one fan can run by itself.

No it doesn't and its the one on the passengers side that's not working, if that's helpful.

Thank you so much for answering so quickly.

Glad to help. If it isn't working with the AC on or when the engine reaches a higher temp, you need to check to see if it is good. Most mechanics will run a jumper wire from the battery directly to the fan to see if it will run.

When the techs changed the oil do you think they would've loosed anything concerning the fan? And can I safely drive 600 miles with it breaking down?

Please understand I am not there to determine if it is safe. However, if one fan works and the engine is not overheating, it should be safe. As far as the techs, they could have hit a wire going to the fan motor.
